World Book Day snow problem for Flip Out

World Book DayYoungsters were delighted to still be able to show off their World Book Day costumes at Flip Out in Stone despite school closures

Last week schools across Staffordshire announced a snow day to their pupils, staff and parents as the Beast from the East hit the county.
Preparations had been underway by parents and children to create the best costume for World Book Day, but as the snow fell, it seemed like all their hard work creating costumes would be wasted.
So the Flip Out team decided to open their doors to all the World Book Day characters for a fun day of flipping.
For all the youngsters dressed up, they offered a free 1-hour bounce. Hundreds of children turned up dressed as the likes of Thing 1 and Thing 2, Spiderman, Harry Potter characters, Jemima Puddle-Duck, Horrid Henry, Harley Quinn and Oompa Loompa’s.
Elliott Shuttleworth, director of Flip Out Stoke, said:
“We felt really bad for all the little ones and their parents who had been working hard to come up with the best World Book Day costume but were told their school would be closed.
“We had an amazing reaction when we posted on social media we’d be offering free tickets to those who were dress up in World Book Day costumes and it was great to see so many getting involved.
“Thanks to everyone who made so much effort to dress up, we really enjoyed seeing all the different book characters turning up to have a bounce!”
