Young Enterprise trade fair in Market Square

Eight local schools who have entered teams in the 2010/11 Stafford and Stone Young Enterprise programme are encouraging visitors to Stone farmers’ market on Saturday 4th December to visit their annual trade fair in Market Square.

The Trade Fair, one of the highlights of the annual YE programme, will see Market Square, outside the library, become a hive of activity as each of the companies set up their stands to sell their specially designed and manufactured products or services.

Throughout the 10 months of the programme to June this year, the teams run and manage their own companies, exactly mirroring a fully-functioning business, with their own board of directors.

“This year’s event is expected to reach new highs,” said David Hawbrook, chairman of Stafford and Stone Young Enterprise Board. “All the teams have developed outstanding products and a great mix of services. There are high expectations that many will sell out during the day.”

The Trade Fair is held annually to encourage all the teams to build their confidence and skills in a retailing environment. This year’s event is again sponsored by Alstom, whose commitment to Young Enterprise over the last few years has enabled more local young entrepreneurs to take part in Young Enterprise programmes.
