Your chance to be ‘brewer for a day’ for the 10th Stone Food and Drink Festival
With the 10th annual Stone Food and Drink Festival fast approaching, organisers of the event will give one of you the chance to take a very exclusive trip to Burslem’s Titanic Brewery with a friend!
Each month, Titanic brews a special ale in the historic brewhouse on the Shugborough estate and, to help celebrate the 10th anniversary of Staffordshire’s biggest gastronomic gathering, time flies doesn’t it? October’s special brew will be a ‘10/10’ celebratory ale; available exclusively at the brewery’s Stone pub, The Royal Exchange, and in the Titanic Beer Tent on Westbridge Park over festival weekend. As you can see the tent is very popular throughout the festival as there’s nothing like the taste of local ale.

Brewing will take place at Shugborough on Sunday, 21st September and prize winners will get the chance to assist in the traditional brewing process. Dave Bott of Titanic Brewery says:
“Each month we brew a special ale at the Shugborough brewhouse for one of our pubs and, with the Stone Food & Drink Festival celebrating its 10th anniversary this October, it seemed apt to use September’s brewing slot to produce a special celebratory ale for the Royal Exchange. We have been attending the festival since the Royal Exchange opened its doors back in 2008 – so this will be our 7th year. It’s been great to see the event grow year on year and we look forward to many more in the future.”
For the chance to assist with this very special brewing event, you just need to answer one simple question – as Festival Chairman, Richard Stevens, explains:
“This is a fantastic idea from Titanic and we feel honoured that they are going to be providing us with a special celebratory ale. For the chance to join in the brewing experience we simply ask people to tell us how many years Titanic has been involved with the Stone Food & Drink Festival and email or post us their answer by Friday, 12th September.”
To enter the competition, simply email your answer to info@stonefooddrink.org.uk or pop it in the post to PO Box 3494, Stone, Staffordshire ST15 9DP, remembering to include your name and contact details. If you don’t manage to win, don’t worry, you can still sample the ‘10/10’ beer once it’s been brewed if you head on down to the festival on Westbridge Park on Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th October –www.stonefooddrink.org.uk
