Witness appeal after tragic death

Staffordshire Police have issued an urgent appeal for witnesses after a local man was discovered on the Morrisons car park in Mill Street on Saturday morning after suffering a cardiac arrest.

The man, who was 19, later died and police are treating his death as “unexplained” at this stage.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “An ambulance crew and a rapid response vehicle attended. A man was found, having suffered a cardiac arrest. At the scene, crews managed to restart his heart and restore his breathing. He was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.”

The ambulance service was called to the supermarket car park at 7.45am on Saturday morning.

Police are urging anyone with any information to call them on 0300 123 4455 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
