As human beings we are often emotionally affected by the things we see and hear about in the news. Sometimes we take a moment to be thankful that we’re safe, sometimes we donate to an appeal and sometimes we become so involved that we set about raising awareness and try and do something that can make an actual difference to those people affected.
Stone man Adrian Summersell is one such individual who has gone the extra mile for a cause that he feels passionate about!
Adrian has deep emotional connections to Japan, and was so moved by the havoc the 2011 Tsunami caused and how many orphans it created, he wrote a song with the intention of raising awareness and hopefully some money to help these orphans.
After the help from a couple of students from Keele University, Skevi Kouloumbri on vocals & Ronald Lim creating all the music & production, his vision has finally been realised!
His beautiful, heart-felt song is available to buy from the Aid for Japan website (www.aidforjapan.org.uk) and all proceeds will go towards helping the orphans of the tsunami. Here is a direct link to buy the download of the song – It’s Alright
It has only been available for 1 week and already over 850 people have bought the song!
Adrian has lived in Stone for many years. You have probably seen him walking around the town with his ski poles, which he uses for support and stability due to his high functioning autism.
Despite the challenges he faces within everyday life due to his Autism, he is completely focused and driven on helping these Orphans as much as possible.
He was recently invited down to London to the Aid for Japan conference where he performed his song, he said it was a wonderful experience.
Here’s a video of Adrian at the Sakura School eight days after the Tsunami…
