Dog poo appeal from 5th Stone Beavers

5th Stone Beavers dog poo appeal

Young Beavers from Stone have spelled out an appeal to dog walkers who exercise their dogs on Walton common – please clean up your dog poo.

The 5th Stone Beavers use the scout hut on the common for their meetings – but find that playing outside is often a problem because of the amount of dog poo.

Anna Walker, one of the Beaver group’s leaders, said: “If you are walking your dog can you please keep an eye on it and if it does a poo PLEASE pick it up? The Beavers would very much like to go outside much more than they do but often there is just too much dog mess around. As one of their leaders and also a dog owner I am pretty disgusted at the amount of dog mess up there and the fact we have to hunt for an area on the field with the least mess on it before we let them out.”

Anna says she has contacted Stafford Borough Council, so hopefully their environmental enforcement officers will be taking action soon.

You can report dog fouling to the borough council HERE if there’s a problem near you. The council has a £75 reward scheme if information you provide leads to a successful prosecution or the issuing of a fixed penalty notice.
