Churnet Valley Railway plans a totally paw-some Easter

This year’s Easter start to the Churnet Valley operations will see some household names make their first ever visit to the area.

A Pawsome Adventure starts with a children’s Meet & Greet event when members of the Paw Patrol Team will be at Froghall to meet their fans on Wednesday 4th, Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th April. Due to work commitments the whole team are unable to visit so, Chase & Rubble will be making personal appearances at intervals throughout Wednesday 8th, while Skye & Marshall have been given the weekend off to visit on both the 7th and 8th.

The Nickelodeon series, which features a pack of six Search & Rescue pups lead by a tech-savvy boy called Ryder, has become a hit amongst youngsters since its launch in 2013.

While meeting their heroes, visitors will also be able to enjoy a selection of activities set up alongside the pups while being treated to some tricks from our own children’s entertainers including Circus Skills, Balloon modelling and Face Painting.

Visitors are welcome to stay as long as they want in the Activity Tent, the Signal Tearooms and Peg-Leg Sweet Shop will be open all day offering a varied menu for all guests to suit all desires plus the Signals Souvenir Shop has many items available to take away as a cherished memory of your visit.

Tickets also include a full round trip at a pre-set time along the Churnet Valley Railway’s 5.5-mile line from Kingsley & Froghall Station to Leekbrook Junction and return behind a heritage steam locomotives. Guests are reminded to make sure they have their cameras, as there will be plenty of opportunities to take lots of pictures throughout the day.

Time slots for entry begin at 10:00 each day, with the final entry time being at 15:20 – the event closes at 17:30 each day. Passengers can board at either Cheddleton or Froghall, and pre-booking is highly recommended for this event (and there is an online discount for all pre-booked tickets!). Entry will be restricted to ticket holders only throughout the event.
