A police investigation is underway following a disturbing incident at Westbridge Park in Stone, where a 15-year-old girl was assaulted and prevented from leaving for two hours.
The incident took place on Wednesday 5th March at around 4:30 pm, when the girl was walking through the park. She was approached by a group of around 20 young people, made up of both boys and girls, aged between 11 and 16 years old.
According to the girl’s mother, her daughter was held by the group for two hours, with the actual physical assault lasting around 20 minutes. During this time, she was repeatedly punched, kicked, and slapped.
The girl’s mother, who contacted A Little Bit of Stone, said:
“Hi, my 15-year-old daughter was assaulted at Westbridge Park on Wednesday night by a group of up to 19 children, ages ranging from 11 to 16. They held her there for 2 hours and refused to let her leave.
The assault itself only lasted 20 minutes, but they wouldn’t let her leave for 2 hours. A woman came to my daughter trying to get her out of the situation by telling her I had called her and needed to give her a lift home. However, my daughter never got that lift. I want to thank the lady, please.”
