We are now officially in an election cycle for the Staffordshire County Council elections, which take place on Thursday 1st May 2025. As part of our coverage, we’ve reset our dedicated election website – stones.vote – ready to bring you everything you need to know in the run-up to polling day.

Candidate window opens this week
The official nomination window for candidates opens on Wednesday 26th March. The final list of those standing will be published on Thursday 3rd April, and you can find key dates and deadlines in our updated election timeline.
For 2025, Stone residents will be voting for a single county councillor to represent their division. However, the boundaries have changed – so the division you’re in may be different from previous elections. We’ll have more information about this on stones.vote to help you understand how the new boundaries affect you.
Our political position
As always, A Little Bit of Stone is politically neutral. We are not affiliated with any political party or candidate. If candidates choose to advertise with us during the campaign, this will not be an endorsement. Any political advertising will be clearly marked as such and treated with the same transparency we apply to all adverts.
Community questions and candidate profiles
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be asking residents, business owners and anyone with a connection to Stone to take part in our Stone Matters survey. This will give you the chance to put forward the issues and questions that matter most to you.
We’ll use the results to help shape our candidate profile questionnaires, giving those standing a chance to speak directly to the people they hope to represent. While we’ll aim to cover a wide range of topics, our focus will remain on areas that Staffordshire County Council is responsible for – things like highways, education, transport and social care.
We won’t be running any hustings for this election, but we will be offering candidates equal opportunity to submit profiles, which will be published on stones.vote as they’re received.
