Oliver Dyke from property development consultancy Oliver Dyke Associates will be showing his plans – titled ‘Future-proofing Stone’ – at:

  • The Crown Hotel, 10am to 4pm, on Friday1st February
  • Stone farmers’ market on Saturday 2nd February
  • Moddershall Village Hall, 5pm to 8pm, on Monday 4th February
  • Barlaston Village Hall, 5pm to 8pm, on Friday 8th February.
Mr Dyke said: “Trent Vision Trust controls land within the Trent valley in Stone. The trust is looking to bring forward ideas as part of an overall masterplan for the holistic development and regeneration of the Trent Valley. These proposals could provide an alternative to the borough council’s plans for development on Westbridge Park.”
Plans for a footbridge to link Walton with Stone town centre were unveiled by Oliver Dyke Associates in August 2011 but met with opposition from many local councillors. Details of the amended plans – which concern land behind the Filleybrooks near to the River Trent and Crown Meadow – have not been revealed yet.
