There’s lots going on in Stone over the Easter holidays to keep the youngsters entertained.
Stafford Borough Council’s ‘Get Out!’ programme will be running from Good Friday (29th March) to Wednesday 10th April. There will be multi-activity days, ‘Footie Fest’ and trampoline coaching at Alleyne’s Sports Centre. In the swimming pool there will be the new ‘double trouble’ giant inflatable obstacle course, fun float sessions, swimming lessons and a lifeguard course. There’s lots more going on across the borough too. Visit www.staffordbc.gov.uk/getout for more information.
Stone’s PCSOs are laying on some activities too under their COPS scheme. There will be fishing on Friday 5th April between 10am and 2pm. Meet at Westbridge Park. And there’s crafts and ball games at Stonefield Park on Wednesday 10th April between 2pm and 4pm. We’ll have more information on these activities soon but call the Stone Neighbourhood Policing team on 07929 610424 and speak to Jenny, Lyndsey or Donna for more details.
Stone Inters Youth Club runs every Monday (apart from Easter Monday due to bank holiday) from 7pm till 9pm at Stone Youth Centre in Station Approach for young people aged 11-13. It has lots of activities, including the Interjam Music Project with local singer-songwriter Ben Owen, which aims to engage young people in group-based music workshops. There are also sports activities, arts and crafts, all in a space for young people to socialise in a safe environment. Email paul.freestone@staffordshire.gov.uk for more information.
Christ Church has an Easter holiday club for children in Reception up to Year 6 from 2nd to 5th April. The club this year is based on stories about Peter in the book of Acts in the Bible. Jesus told Peter that he was going to call him “The Rock” on which he was going to build the church – hence Rocky’s Plaice – and the action takes place in a Fish and Chip Shop! There will be singing, drama, puppets, games, craft, DVD and small group times, plus refreshments too, and all for the price of £1 per session! Booking is important to secure a place on the Holiday Club, as the church can’t guarantee that places will be available for those who turn up on the day. You can download a booking form from www.christchurchstone.org or call 01785 811990.
There’s a Stagecoach performing arts Easter holiday workshop at St Michael’s First School from 2nd to 5th April. A week full of learning lines, dance routines and songs all culminating in a fantastic show for friends and family. More information HERE
