CCTV appeal over Stone corner shop robbery

Detectives investigating a robbery in Stone have released CCTV images of the suspect in a bid to identify him.

The incident happened at around 9.50pm on Sunday 8th September when a man entered The Wine Cellar in Oulton Road. He assaulted a member of staff with a bladed weapon and stole cash from the till.

The staff member, a 66-year-old woman, suffered an injury to her hand which required hospital treatment. Her injuries are not believed to be serious.

The man is described as white with a tanned complexion, possibly mixed race, aged in his late 20s to early 30s with dark hair and eyes. He was slim and around 5ft 11ins to 6ft. He had stubble and is described as having pointed features. He wore a white hooded top and was carrying an A4 size document style black case.

It is believed he left the area in a dark Audi car which was driven by a woman.

Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who recognises the man or who saw the above car in the area.
