Stafford Borough Council’s Cabinet will recommend its proposed fees and charges for 2011 at its meeting on Thursday 4th November.
Cabinet members meet at the Gatehouse Theatre in Stafford at 10am. A report to Cabinet sets out the proposed changes, which incorporate the increase in VAT to 20% from 4th January 2011. The council’s new fees and charges normally start in April but for 2011 will start in January to tie in with the VAT rise.
The report proposes that the average increase to fees and charges for 2011 be set at 5%. There are exceptions, however, and these below relate to Stone.
The biggest rise is for per-session gym sessions at Westbridge Park Sports Centre, which could be going up by 17.6%, from £5 to £6 for adults, and from £2.50 to £3 for concessions. The monthly direct debit, though, could only increase by 0.9%.
Stafford Borough Council will set its fees and charges for 2011 at a meeting of the full council on 30th November.
