A woman died after being hit by a train in Stone on Sunday evening (9th November).
Emergency services were called to the railway line at about 6.15pm. The level crossing at Church Street/Redhill Road, just up from St Michael’s Church, was closed as paramedics and police officers attended the incident.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said today: “Unfortunately it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save her and sadly she was confirmed dead at the scene.”
