The festive season officially got underway in Stone on Thursday as the town centre Christmas lights were switched on.
Thousands of people packed into the High Street to enjoy entertainment, a fairground and lots of charity stalls.
The main stage saw performances from local bands Risen From The Ruins and Phoenix, a combined schools choir, students from the Pop School & Stage Academy and – after she’d helped to switch on the lights – Stoke’s Top Talent winner Su Annaglib.
Market Square was full of fairground rides while the bottom of the High Street housed lots of local charities and groups, including Stone Lions, who were selling popcorn, and students from St Dominic’s Priory School, who had made some delicious soup.
The top of the High Street was taken over by the main stage and some great snow machines, which added an extra festive air to the event.
