St Michaels First School Stone Open Day

Congratulations Streetscene

It isn’t very often that I have cause to congratulate Stafford Borough Council but today I must eat humble pie and say “Well done Streetscene – a fantastic job done so quickly!”

I am referring to a problem that was brought to my attention earlier this week by a resident of Bromfield Court whose property backs onto the Christchurch Way public car park. He told me that the height restriction barrier was no longer in place and an HGV tractor unit was parking overnight with its engine running for hours.

I made a quick phone call to Streetscene who are responsible for Borough Council car parks and spoke to Steve Allen. He told me that he was aware of the problem. The barrier had been damaged and was being repaired. When I explained that I had received a complaint that a tractor unit was parking up overnight he promised me he would chase up the repair and would try to get it sorted out by the end of the week. And true to his word, the barrier was back in place on Thursday.

Now that’s service! Thanks Steve.
