Barlaston Golf Club is on Meaford Road between Stone and Barlaston and is a real hidden gem.
Established in 1987, it has a beautiful 18-hole parkland course, based partly along the River Trent, and with a large lake at its heart – it’s a perfect setting for beginners and more advanced golfers alike. Facilities include covered driving bays, practice bunker, putting green and Indoor Golf Lab for analysis and fitting.
The club is open to members and non-members alike. For visitors, there’s a range of options, including:
- Golf Express – play nine holes from 4pm on Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays for just £10
- Unlimited golf plus a pie and a pint on Mondays and Wednesdays for £21
The comfortable clubhouse, with views out across the course, is available for visitors too, with a licensed bar. And there’s a well-stocked shop on site for all your golfing needs, as well as the hi-tech Indoor Golf Lab, where your technique can be analysed and improved.
For members, coaching is available from PGA professionals. Individual and corporate membership, which brings with it a huge range of benefits, is available from £12 a week.
The club is also doing its bit to attract youngsters into the game, with Saturday morning coaching for juniors, taught by three qualified coaches with over 100 years of experience between them!
All aspects of the game are taught at the Junior Academy, in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere, with youngsters using a dedicated chipping/putting area and separate practise ground with all-weather driving range.
