Have your say on plans to help homeless people

Residents and businesses in Stone are being asked for their views on plans to help homeless people across the Stafford borough.

Stafford Borough Council has just published its draft homelessness strategy but wants comments from people in the borough. The plan deals with the ways the council can help people who may find themselves without a roof over their head. It includes initiatives to help residents find accommodation, steps that can prevent people losing their homes and how the council will work with other agencies to ensure the plan is a success.

Cabinet member for community, Councillor Patrick Farrington, said: “We want people to tell us what they think of these very important plans on how we deal with homelessness issues. The strategy demands the continuous improvement of our homelessness and housing advice service.”

The consultation can be found from the ‘Have your Say’ section of the council’s website. You can also request the draft strategy and questionnaire by contacting housingadvice@staffordbc.gov.uk or on 01785 619313. Residents and businesses have until 12th January 2011 to give their feedback.
