Morrisons wants to extend the opening hours of its Stone store until midnight during the festive season.

The supermarket has applied to Stafford Borough Council for permission to open its store in the town from 6am to midnight every day of the week, although it’s unlikely that it would open these hours on Sundays.

Morrisons in Stone is currently open from 7am to 9pm from Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

If you would like to make a representation to the borough council’s licensing department – which will decide on Morrisons’ application – you can write to The Licensing Team, Stafford Borough Council, Civic Centre, Riverside, Stafford ST16 3AQ by 25th November.

The supermarket giant has made similar requests to councils all over the country as it gears up for the busy festive period.
