Peter marks 40 years of Buy ‘n’ Save

Forty not out: Peter Rushton outside Buy N Save on the High Street

Stone shopkeeper Peter Rushton has marked the 40th anniversary of his Buy ‘n’ Save store on the High Street.

The shop started out as a drug store in 1970 but has evolved over the years to offer a huge range of goods. On Saturday 4th December Peter marked the big 4-0 with son Neil, who now runs the shop with him, and loyal customers, with sweets for youngsters and a special anniversary cake.

Peter, aged 75, is a fixture on the High Street and he can’t believe he’s been trading in Stone for four decades. “I must be doing something right!” he said.
