People who want to work off some of the Christmas excess can take part in Stone Lions’ post plum pudding plod on Tuesday 28th December.
The Lions’ third annual sponsored walk is based in Yarnfield and Swynnerton, starting at the Labour in Vain pub in Yarnfield. The long route, around 5.5 miles, will take walkers across beautiful countryside, several stiles, along country lanes and through woodland, with a shorter walk of around two miles for less adventurous walkers.
It is recommended that suitable footwear is worn as some parts of the walk may be muddy, and unfortunately the walk will not be suitable for wheelchairs. As in previous years, the Lions will make a small charge to take part in the walk (£2.50 for adults, £1 for under-16s) and walkers are invited to use the event to raise funds for their own chosen charity by obtaining sponsors.
Registration will take place between 9.30am and 12pm at the Labour in Vain and meals will be available in the pub after the walk at a cost of £10 for two meals. The Lions will be supporting the Oak Tree Farm tea room appeal this year and all proceeds will be donated to the appeal.
More information and sponsor forms are available from Dave and Chris Handley on 01785 812027.
