“I would like to reassure Stone communities that we are working hard to investigate these offences, but would like to remind local residents to be vigilant in leaving their vehicles locked securely and removing personal property, especially valuable items.

“If you have intruder alarms in your properties, please ensure they are in working order and switched on when you are out or overnight and lock doors and windows securely.

“We recommend that you leave all car keys out of sight from the outside of your property – not on a window sill or next to the front door – and consider placing contactless (remote) keys in a metal container in your home when not in use.

“Please inform Staffordshire Police via 101 if you have concerns about the suspicious activity of any unknown persons.”
