The fourth response we received to our candidate questionnaires came from the Stone Conservative Association on behalf of their candidates. They have forwarded our questionnaire on but have supplied their own statements from their website. We’ve asked a few times for the candidate questions to be returned so that we can present our readers with a common set of responses…..to date we’ve not been able to secure them so we’re publishing what we’ve received. I have loved living in Stone for the last 50 years; I have served you by running two local businesses, Midfield Nursery & Florist for 26 yrs and Midfield Canine Education Academy for 44 years; I am now semi-retired.
For the last 8 years I have been proud to represent you as a Stafford Borough Councillor. I was Deputy Mayor of Stafford Borough in 2015 and this year I have been nominated as Deputy Mayor Elect of Stafford Borough. It has been a pleasure to have been involved in restoring our High Street and Town with larger retailers, other smaller independent shops and of course the return of our Post Office. We are very excited to welcome the new guide hut and our state of the art leisure centre which I joined on the first day.
I have enjoyed working for all ages within the community from babes to grandparents; I am involved in children’s holiday clubs and also supporting Age Concern Stone & District. My other charity work includes Katherine House Lymphedema Clinic, Stafford Hospital League of Friends and nationally with Guide Dogs for the Blind, for which I am Honorary President.
I am a Trustee of Barlaston Downs Banks and Stone Common Plot and I care deeply for conservation issues. I am capable of seeing projects through and with my passion for life and I intend to continue my hard work with honesty, high moral values and determination to help you as individuals and the Town as a whole.
