Stone and District Swimming Club first in-house Gala a success

On Monday 2nd December Stone and District Swimming Club ran their first in-house gala since moving into the new Stone Leisure Centre.

The club has had to rapidly adapt to its change of environment and its change of circumstances over the past 6 months. The changes have included bringing in new online systems, new website, updating offerings and new coaches, and the club have recently achieved Swim Mark Status, the quality standard for Swim England, which gives parents the assurance in the club.

The club is now offering Lessons from Stage 7 upwards through to the new Club levels. These allow for swimmers to keep on their progression path after reaching Stage 10.

Ian Hall, Club Chairman, says: “The Gala marks a fitting end to our first term in our new format. Huge smiling faces and a sense of achievement is what it’s all about. The whole ethos of the club is not just to provide coaching but to provide an experience.”

“And we cannot forget that the club is only possible with our volunteers, as it is 100% run by them, our club sponsor, local company Triband Care Services and local people like Amanda White Photography who give up their time to take some pretty awesome photos.”

We look forward to seeing the club go fromstrength to strength in their new home!
