Stone runner Ben Gamble won this year’s St Michael’s 10k road race on Sunday 26th June in a field of competitors from across the West Midlands.
Ben, a member of Tipton Harriers, won the race with a time of 32:37. There was an amazing sprint finish for second place, with Rory McMahon pipping Paul Gibbins of Trentham Running Club by just one second.
The highest-finishing runner from local club Stone Master Marathoners was Mark Neeld, who finished sixth with a time of 35:19.

Ben Gamble won the trophy for highest finishing Stone male runner, with Tracy Lovatt winning the best female trophy with a time of 43:47 and a top 10 women’s finish.
A total of 538 runners made the starting line at 10am as temperatures hit 22C. The heat saw around 60 runners failing to finish.
The finish line was on the playing fields of St Michael’s First School, which was also holding its summer fayre at the same time as the race.
Youngsters even got in on the action with a series of fun runs.
