Organisations urged to enter Green Awards

Norman Jones, Head of Policy and Improvement, and Karen Davies from Stafford Borough Council

Businesses, schools and community groups in Stone can show off their green credentials by entering an annual competition.

Schemes which demonstrate good environmental practice will be showcased at the popular Green Awards run by Stafford Borough Council.

The awards are now in their 15th year after being set up to reward the efforts of local organisations in helping the environment and contributing to a more sustainable borough.

The initiative was launched in 1996 and has had interest from organisations as diverse as factories to churches.

The competition is open to all groups operating in the borough, and has played a key role in the Council’s agenda on issues surrounding carbon reduction and sustainable development.
