The dangers of vehicles ignoring the traffic restrictions and just driving through the High Street was highlighted at Tuesday’s community crime event – local police and Stafford Borough Council carried out an operation late yesterday afternoon, warning more than 40 motorists in 2 hours.

Chief Inspector Giles Parsons provided A Little Bit of Stone with the following reminder about the traffic restrictions in place:

“We would like to remind motorists there is a Public Space Protection order in place and vehicular access is prohibited other than for loading / unloading or in emergencies. Stafford Borough Council are working with us to raise awareness of restrictions.

Driving down the High Street can result in a £100 fine, we do not want to have to fine motorists which is why we are doing operations advising people and trying to ensure awareness is increased. We have though had numerous complaints about vehicles driving down the High Street, with potential dangers this can cause and if the problem persists we will carry out enforcement operations.”

It’s says ONLY for emergencys, unloading and loading,so i wouldn’t think you’d be allowed to park even with your disabled badge entitlements….stay safe…
