Stone Festival Carnival Parade – Route, Timings and Road Closures

The Stone Festival Carnival Parade will be making its way through the town on the afternoon of Saturday 18th June; here’s our guide to the route, timings and road closures.

A cornerstone of the annual Stone Festival is the Carnival Parade featuring local groups, organisations and individuals.

The Route:

The Parade departs from the top entrance to Hitachi ABB Power Grids, proceeding along Oulton Road down to the intersections with Old Road and Longton Road. The route then heads towards the town’s bypass, along Radford Street and onto Christchurch Way. The final part of the route is from Stafford Street and Stafford Road, with the parade finishing at Stone’s Westbridge Park.

The Parade:

The Parade will set off at 1:00pm and reach Westbridge Park between 2:00pm and 2:15pm.

Road Closures:

Road closure notices are in force from 12:45pm to 2:15pm.  The road closures will ensure the safety of participants and spectators as the slow-moving parade passes through the town.

Car Parking:

On the day of the Parade, 18th June, Stafford Borough Council, as in the past, have granted free use of their car parks in Stone, which now amounts to Christchurch Way and Crown Street. Please note that vehicles leaving during the period of the road closures may have to wait or follow alternative routes.

Participants:

All participants should arrive at Hitachi Energy, Oulton Road, Stone, ST15 0RS, from 11:30am and NO LATER than 12:00pm.

Judging of Marching Groups and Floats will start at approximately 12:15pm.
