Stone teenager begins a fundraising mission to reach Borneo in 2024

Kai TamsWhen faced with an opportunity to go to Borneo in 2024, Stone youngster Kai Tams set himself the personal mission of raising the trip fee by doing odd jobs for friends, neighbours and local residents. Gardening, dog walking, jet washing and more – Kai, with the support of his family, are looking to turn your odd jobs into cash.

Through Kai’s school, a two-week expedition in Borneo has been arranged for 2024 and Kai jumped at the opportunity to head to the other side of the world.

Proud parents Kez and Mark Tams told A Little Bit of Stone:

“For people who know Kai, they’ll know what a determined and resourceful individual he can be. When he puts his mind to something he gives 110% and we are proud to be able to support in by raising awareness of his fundraising efforts.”

The family have set up a Facebook Group where people can see his previous work and also then have a way to get in touch to request Kai’s services.

Some of the things Kai can provide are:

  • Car washing
  • Jet Washing
  • Gardening
  • Dog Walking
  • Dad with a van – for moving and collection of items.
  • Fence Painting

All jobs will be considered, and as Kai can contribute to the trip fund each month, he’s looking for a nice steady stream of jobs to see him through to February 2024.

Kez and Mark went on to say:

“Kai is very mature, respectful and dedicated for his age. He carries out the jobs, where necessary with our support, and between us, we can turn our hand to most things.

It would be fantastic if the people of Stone would spread his fundraising mission as every job completed chips away on the trip total.”

You can find the Facebook Group – Borneo Expedition 2024 where you can see Kai’s past work and also get in contact for a quote for your odd jobs.

You can also support Kai directly via his Just Giving Page – Borneo Expedition 2024 or by using their fundraising link when shopping for your online goods – Easy Fundraising link.
