Could this modern rural space be your next event location?

HIdeout Creative SpaceEntrepreneurial couple launches modern countryside creative space suitable for a myriad of events. From corporate meetings, photoshoots, workshops and more, the Hideout Creative Space could be the location for you!

Husband and wife team Matt and Tracy Bishop are no strangers to building businesses. Based just outside of Fulford, the couple already runs a successful recording studio and cattery business, however, they had a spare building that was crying out to be utilised.

We spoke to the pair about Hideout Creative Space and their respective backgrounds:

“We are Matt and Tracy, and with the help of Maggie Hollinshead, we are pleased to present our creative space to the people of Stone.

Matt is a music professional with a successful recording studio running at the same location as Hideout.

Tracy’s core career is in finance and corporate public speaking, along with complementary skills in hypnotherapy and personal development coaching.

Maggie is our artistic guru and craft champion. Oh, and we also run Kandahar cattery at the premises as we love animals and wildlife!

We are very entrepreneurial and had a redundant building which was crying out for a purpose.

We already had demand for a space for video and photo shoots, and micro-gigs from the recording studio, so decided to redevelop the building to provide a space for all sorts of events and creative activities so people could hold their own events in this beautiful part of the Staffordshire countryside.”

The team went on to tell us about their space and the work that’s gone into getting it open:

Hideout Creative Space“We started the redevelopment back in Spring this year (2022) and opened for business at the beginning of September.

We’ve created a beautiful, rural, rustic event space which can be hired on an hourly, half-day, full-day or multi-day basis for a wide range of events.

So far, we have had bookings for corporate meetings, small gigs, video shoots, craft workshops, meditation sessions and family gatherings such as baby showers.

Maggie also runs a series of art and craft workshops. We are also trialling co-working days where you can book a desk for a day or half day to break up the week if you a solopreneur or work from home.”

With a number of events spaces in and around Stone we were keen to hear what they saw as their unique selling point for clients:

“We think that our countryside setting sets us apart; everyone who books loves the countryside and views and loves the ability to break up their meeting or workshop with some time in fresh air with a countryside walk or even feeding our alpacas.

We have free parking on site and, of course, free wi-fi. We also want to make sure everyone has successful events, so we will work with you to dry run your event and can provide practical support and advice to help you create an impactful event.”

The team went on to say:

“We want to encourage our guests to make the most of the countryside. Bring walking boots or wellies, and we will provide suggestions for circular walks that fit perfectly to a break in your agenda.

If you are new to hosting events or meetings and feeling nervous about the practicalities and logistics or even in need of a confidence boost, please have a chat with us, as we have a wealth of experience and skills to help you.

One of the things we are loving about starting this business is discovering so many local businesses and entrepreneurs who are doing great things. Staffordshire is such a creative place and we love being part of that.”

You can find Hideout Creative Space on the edge of Fulford village, at Kandahar, Crossgate, ST15 8RL. That’s around a 10-minute drive from Stone and around 25 minute drive from Stoke or Stafford train stations.
