Motorists will be able to park for free in Stone town centre on two key dates in the run-up to Christmas.
The borough council has waived parking charges for motorists on car parks run by the local authority in Stone and Stafford on two Saturday afternoons in December.
The council will allow free parking after 1pm on Saturday 3rd December and at the same time the following week – 10th December. The move is aimed at boosting business by encouraging more people to shop in the towns.
It means spaces on three car parks in Stone will be free to use after 1pm on both those days.
Cabinet member for planning and regeneration, Councillor Frances Beatty, said she hoped it would provide a timely boost for retailers and businesses in both towns.
