Just when we thought it was completed, surfacing works on the A34 Stone Road between the Redhill roundabout and the new Pets at Home roundabout will require up to 10 nights of closures.

The works will kick off from Monday, the 23rd of September from 8:00pm to 6:00am the following morning – excluding the weekend of the 28th and 29th of September.

The road will be closed in both directions during these times between the A51 Aston roundabout and the A513 Redhill roundabout. A signed diversion route in place via A5013, A519, A51.

People will still be able to access properties and businesses with assistance from traffic management teams, and bus services will not be affected.

The works are being funded by commercial property company Stoford, which developed the Pets at Home facility.

Staffordshire County Council’s cabinet member for strategic highways Mark Deaville said:

“These essential surfacing works are taking place on one of Stafford’s key routes and so has been scheduled to minimise disruption.

“We’d ask people to allow extra journey time and apologise for any inconvenience.”
