From early morning worship to children’s crafts and the town’s Walk of Witness, churches across Stone have set out their plans for Holy Week.
Services begin on Palm Sunday, Sunday 29 March, and run through to Easter Day on Sunday 5 April, with events taking place in the town centre, Walton, Oulton and surrounding villages.

Palm Sunday Services: Sun 29th March
We remember Jesus being hailed as a King as he rode into Jerusalem for Passover.

Maundy Thursday: 2nd April
We remember Jesus institution of the Last Supper the night before he died.

Good Friday: 3rd April
We focus on Jesus’ death on a cross for our forgiveness:
- 10.00 a.m. Children’s Easter Crafts at Christ Church Centre.
- 10.45 a.m. Joint service for all ages at Christ Church, Stone (Hot Cross Buns to follow).
- 7.00 p.m. Meditation on Christ’s Passion at Christ Church, Stone: we read a Gospel account of Jesus’ trial and death, we sing and have time to reflect on the events leading to Jesus’ death.
Easter Sunday: 5th April
We celebrate the resurrection of Jesus: rejoicing that Jesus is alive today!

Church at The Crossing (Baptist)
Maundy Thursday 2nd April 7.30pm – Tenebrae Service using candlelight as a passage from light to darkness. With music and readings, Tenebrae (Latin for ‘darkness’) allows us to reflect on the events of the Easter story as we explore the journey into the shadows before Easter Sunday.
Sunday 5th April 10.30am – Family Easter Celebration for all ages, followed by refreshments and hot cross buns.
