Railway Inn community pub campaign to host pop up pub in Norton Bridge

The group working to bring the former Railway Inn in Norton Bridge into community ownership is hosting a pop up pub event this June.

The Railway Inn Community Pub event will take place on Saturday 13 June 2026, from 2pm to 10pm, at the Railway Inn event field and car park in Norton Bridge.

The event follows months of campaigning by local volunteers, who have been working to reopen the former Railway Inn, also known in later years as the Izaak Walton Brewhouse, as a community owned village pub.

For June’s pop up pub, organisers say they will use the event field with two marquees, one for the bar and one for seating, music and a tombola.

Thai to Go will also be at the event, serving food from 4pm to 8pm, or until sold out.

The group said it is looking forward to seeing the local community, and hopefully visitors from further afield, enjoying the atmosphere of a village pub, even though the building itself has not yet been secured.

There will be a disabled friendly toilet on site for the pop up pub. Car parking will be available for a limited number of cars, with some spaces reserved for Blue Badge holders.
