A police dispersal order is in place in Stone this weekend as officers look to tackle anti-social behaviour and reassure residents.

The order covers Stone town centre to Westbridge Park and is due to run from 4pm on Friday 19 June to 4pm on Sunday 21 June.
Staffordshire Police said a number of Section 34 dispersal orders are in place across Stafford and surrounding areas over the weekend. The powers allow officers to disperse people believed to be involved in anti-social behaviour, crime or disorder in the identified areas.
Orders are also in place for Stafford town centre and parts of Meir Heath, including Grindley Park, Grindley Lane, Grange Road, Sandon Road and Windmill Hill.
Deputy Commander Dan Egerton, of Stafford Borough local policing team, said
“We are determined to crackdown on groups of individuals intent on causing anti-social behaviour and other criminality across Stafford, and these orders will allow us to do just that.
“The vast majority of individuals living in and visiting the areas will be unaffected by the orders, but we hope that be enacting them, we will be able to target those who cause alarm and distress in our communities.
“Alongside this, officers will continue to carry out proactive patrols, maintaining a visible presence to reassure local residents.”
Police said the orders are intended to protect communities from harassment, alarm and distress.

Great. Anything that makes our areas safer. Just get rid of the few troublemakers. Give them severe sentences. We are too soft today.
