Police are appealing for information after a man suffered serious injuries in an assault in the Stone area.
Staffordshire Police said officers were called at 12.30am on Sunday 21 June to a bus stop on Stafford Road, near Walton Island, following reports of violence.
The force said two unknown men had reportedly assaulted a man, punching him to the face.
The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance with a serious head injury.
Officers are carrying out local enquiries and are asking anyone who saw what happened, or who may have relevant CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage, to get in touch.
