A dispersal order is in place across Stone town centre this weekend as Staffordshire Police responds to concerns about anti social behaviour in the borough.

The Section 34 order came into force at 4pm today, Friday 2 October, and will remain in place until 4pm on Sunday 4 October.
A similar order is also in place in Stafford town centre.
The orders, issued under the Anti social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act, give officers powers to direct individuals to leave designated areas where this is considered necessary to prevent alarm, distress or harassment, or to prevent crime and disorder.
Staffordshire Police said the action follows recent work by Stafford Borough local policing team and the county proactive and rural crime team to identify people believed to have been involved in recent anti social behaviour in Stafford.
Police said four young people had been arrested this week. One has been charged with public order and assault offences, while two other teenagers remained in custody on Friday after being arrested on suspicion of similar offences.
Maps released by Staffordshire Police show the areas covered by the orders in Stone and Stafford.
Inspector Dan Egerton, Deputy Commander for Stafford Borough local policing team, said
“Anti social behaviour and violence have no place in our borough, and we will not tolerate behaviour that makes residents, visitors and businesses feel unsafe.
“We recognise the impact that this type of behaviour can have on the wider community and local businesses and will continue to work closely with them to identify those responsible to ensure our area remains a safe place for people to live, work and visit.”
He encouraged anyone who witnesses anti social behaviour or associated criminal activity to report it to police, adding that information from the public helps officers understand what is happening and target their resources.
Anti social behaviour can be reported to Staffordshire Police online or by calling 101. In an emergency, call 999.
The dispersal order remains in place until 4pm on Sunday 4 October.
