Staffordshire County Council have announced to residents of Tilling Drive and Beacon Rise, Walton, that a £330,000 resurfacing project will take place, starting on Monday 9th July for 15 weeks.
The county council posted letters to all residents that will or may be affected by the resurfacing works after many complained about them not being informed about previous works. The works will take place from the junction of Eccleshall Road and the bus gates at the bottom of Beacon Rise.
The letter said: “We hope to keep traffic flowing as easily as possible, and hope to cause only minor disruption.” The council also pointed out in the letter that between the 13th August for eight days and 10th september for five days the whole stretch will be completely closed except for access. However, we believe this does not include parents wishing to pick up children from school. Another option for parents is to park on the car park adjacent or elsewhere and walk. Don’t block the Ecceshall Road as access is needed constantly.
How can you help?
- Keep children awayy from the works
- Drive appropriately through the works and respect the workmen
- Check shoes before entering households for Bitumen
- Trim back any hedges/trees that have overgrown your property boundary.
If you have any worries or concerns about the works please contact Dean Sargeant on 0300 111 8000 or email highways@staffordshire.gov.uk . You can also keep up to date on all works in your area on https://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/staffshighways/schemeinfo/
