Olympic gold medallist and Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins will be racing through Stone next month as the Tour of Britain returns to the town.
Wiggins – who won gold in the London 2012 time trial following his amazing Tour de France success – confirmed at the weekend that he will be competing in this year’s Tour of Britain, which will pass through Stone on Thursday 13th September, as will current world champion Mark Cavendish.
Stone features again in the Stoke-on-Trent stage of the Tour, which starts at Trentham Gardens before heading through Stone en route to a finish in Hanley later in the day. There are more details at www.tourofbritain.com, although the start time hasn’t been confirmed yet by the organisers.
