Stone Rotary Club wants your old bikes!

Stone Rotary Club is collecting old and unwanted bikes and will have a stall in the High Street on Farmers’ Market day in November (Saturday 3rd) where they can be taken along.

The Club has linked up with bikes4Africa, a charity which refurbishes donated second-hand bikes and delivers them from the UK to African schools to enable the children to get safely to school on time and to stay later if they wish.

John Sayer from Stone Rotary Club said: “Stone Rotary puts a great deal of effort into supporting our local community but every year it takes on an overseas project to help those in need in other, more disadvantaged, parts of the world.”

So if you have an old bike in the garage or shed, don’t take it to the tip – take it along to the Rotary stall at the Farmers’ Market in November, which will be by HSBC. Alternatively, call John Sayer on 01785 819807.

Stone Rotary Club is now on Facebook by the way – you can find them here.
