Following a successful trial in January, the dedicated pop-up co-working space at The Butchers Block is continuing, with more sessions and new additions to make it even better.

Designed to support Stone’s growing community of remote workers, freelancers, and home-based professionals, the space has had fantastic feedback.

What’s new

Following feedback from those who attended, and those who wanted to but couldn’t, some key improvements have been made.

  • Extended hours and an additional day. Co-working will now run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8.30am to 4pm. On Thursdays, there’s the option to stay beyond this time
  • Refreshments. A lunch menu will be available from 11am to 2pm, and bottomless tea and filter coffee are now available for £4.95. Drinks can also be purchased as and when needed from the bar
  • Co-working social hour. To encourage networking and a relaxed end to the day, a £3 draft pint or house wine offer will run from 3pm to 4pm this Tuesday (25th February).

A space that works for you

The co-working sessions have already made a difference to many who joined during the trial. One attendee said, “These have been fab. Really enjoyed them and actually got loads done.” Others valued the chance to meet new people, with another adding, “Great space, good community spirit, opportunity to make new friends and get work done.”

For those working remotely full-time, the sessions provided a much-needed change of scenery. “I work completely remotely and try to work in coffee shops for a change of scenery. This was a fantastic idea, it’s been great to find a new local pub as well.”

Beyond productivity, the initiative has helped people feel more connected. “…I think over time this will become a great networking opportunity.”

Why co-working

Since the pandemic, many people have embraced home working, but sometimes a change of environment can help with motivation and productivity. Whether you are a full-time remote worker, a freelancer, or just looking for a productive space for a few hours, this is an easy and flexible option.

A growing community

This initiative wouldn’t have been possible without Nick and Adam at The Butchers Block, who have been incredibly enthusiastic about creating a space for local professionals to work, connect, and take a break from home offices.

The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with many eager to see it continue. One attendee summed it up by saying, “Brilliant set-up at The Butcher’s Block. Thanks for making it happen.”
