The licence-holding brewery recently brewed Joule’s pale ale, which is available at its 18 pubs in Staffordshire. Managing director Steve Nuttall and wife Chrissie have built a brewery behind The Red Lion in Great Hales Street, Market Drayton, where the historic ale has been brought back to life.

Joules bought The Royal Oak in Eccleshall earlier this month. Other pubs include The Glebe in Stoke, The Rose & Crown in Biddulph Moor, The Cock Inn in Leek, The Fox & Hounds and Lord Hill in Market Drayton and The Bank House Inn in Hixon. All the pubs boast the iconic red cross logo.

Joule’s was established in Stone in 1780 and is an iconic name and brand for the town. It was taken over by Bass Charrington in 1970 and stopped brewing in Stone four years later.
