Items have been stolen from a garden created by Brownies in the town for this year’s Stone in Bloom.
A clay owl and wooden toadstool were taken from the beautiful garden at the top of Abbey Street – just off Lichfield Road – on Thursday (24th July).
The leader who worked with the Brownies on the garden, and Jill Hood from Stone in Bloom, have appealed for people in the town to keep an eye out for the toadstool and owl.
Jill Hood from Stone in Bloom said: “The Brownies were thrilled that their very hard work in their garden had been judged and admired by senior Heart of England in Bloom judge Roger Bache last week, who said it typified the community spirit of Stone residents.
“Brownie leader Helen Whetnall says she watered the garden at 10.30am on Thursday morning and both the toadstool and the owl were in place, but when she returned later in the afternoon to water again the owl and toadstool had gone.”
Helen added: “As you can imagine I was devastated when I went to water and dead-head the bed to see an empty place where they had sat. I hope people can help us to find them.”
