Officers from Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident on Saturday when a man was hit by a car in Pirehill Lane.
The collision happened at around 7.10pm on 12th November near the Bonnie Gem pub and involved a green Citroen Saxo. Officers attended with colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service and the road remained closed until shortly after 9.30pm.
The 44-year-old pedestrian, who is a local man, was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire by ambulance with serious injuries, including a collapsed lung, but is now in a stable condition.
Witnesses to the collision are asked to contact PC Julian Baskeyfield on 101 quoting incident number 746 of 12 November.
