An attempted burglary has been reported on Meadowside in Stone, off Trent Road, in the early hours of Sunday 1 February.

According to a Staffordshire Smart Alert, offenders gained access to the rear garden of a property at around 4.30 am and were seen trying the French doors. No entry was reported, but the incident has been logged with police.
Staffordshire Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area around that time.
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 115 of 1 February 2026.
Police have also shared a reminder to residents about basic crime prevention measures, particularly following reports of attempted burglaries which, even when unsuccessful, can be unsettling.
Residents are advised to double lock external doors and consider anti snap or multi point locking systems, use motion activated lighting around entrances, and keep gardens and boundaries clear so they do not provide cover. The use of CCTV or video doorbells can also help deter offenders and provide evidence if needed.
Anyone who notices suspicious behaviour in their area is encouraged to report it at the time, rather than after the event.
