British Transport Police have confirmed that today that a man in his 20’s died in the incident near Stone Train Station on Friday 31st July.
A spokesperson told A Little Bit of Stone: “At 9:16pm we were called to an area of railway in Stone following a report of a casualty on the tracks. Officers attended, but sadly a man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
As per British Transport Police policy for non suspicious deaths, the name and details of the man will not be released.
South Staffordshire coroner Andrew Haigh is set to be notified following the tragedy.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman told ALBOS: “We were called by police to the railway line in Stone.
One ambulance and three paramedic officers attended the scene. On arrival crews found one patient, a man. Sadly nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
