Brownies in Stone celebrated the birth of Prince George with a party at their Westbridge Park base this week – and Stoke-on-Trent pottery firm Emma Bridgewater donated commemorative mugs as a special keepsake.
The pottery firm based in Hanley donated 18 Royal Baby half-pint mugs. The Stone St Michael’s Brownies decided to have the special party following the excitement within the group of the birth and initially contacted Emma Bridgewater to see if they could buy something small that could be given out to all of the Brownies during the festivities.
Helen Whetnall, Brown Owl of Stone Brownies, said: “The Brownies wanted to celebrate the birth of Prince George in some way so I contacted Emma Bridgewater to see if we could buy something small, maybe a key ring that could be given to each of them as a memento. We couldn’t believe the generosity of Emma Bridgewater. The mugs really made the party special for the Brownies and I’m sure they will be cherished.”
Leigh Willott, design studio manager at Emma Bridgewater, added: “When Helen contacted me to see what she could purchase to give to her Brownie group we thought what a lovely idea and wanted to help with her celebrations.”
