A travelling cancer awareness bus offering free health checks and advice will be stopping in Stone next week.

The NHS run Cancer Awareness Bus Tour is due to park in Market Place, near the library on the High Street, on Monday 23 March 2026. It will be open from 9am until 4pm, giving people the chance to drop in throughout the day.
The bright red double decker vehicle has been visiting towns across Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent as part of a wider campaign to help people recognise possible cancer symptoms and feel more confident about seeking medical help.
There is no need to book an appointment. Anyone passing through the town centre can step on board to speak with trained staff, pick up information or ask questions in a relaxed setting.
Health checks are being offered at most locations by Everyone Health, alongside guidance on NHS screening programmes and what to look out for when it comes to early warning signs.

The visit forms part of a wider tour organised in partnership with the West Midlands Cancer Alliance and NHS Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Integrated Care Board. The aim is to reach people in everyday settings, including town centres and shopping areas, rather than expecting them to attend formal clinics.
For many people, small changes in their body can be easy to dismiss. The bus provides an opportunity to have an informal conversation with healthcare professionals, without the pressure of a medical appointment.
Town centre traders and shoppers are expected to notice the bus throughout the day, particularly around the library end of Market Place where footfall is often steady on weekday mornings.
Residents who would like to see the full tour schedule for other nearby stops can find details on the NHS website.
