Check out details of this annual ploughing and hedgelaying match

plowingThe Stone district of the Staffordshire and Birmingham Agricultural Society is hosting a ploughing and hedge laying match this Sunday, and everyone’s welcome.

The event takes place this Sunday, the 25th of September and happens at Ash Tree Farm, Aston by Stone (signposted off the A34).
The event is free for spectators to come and watch the activities taking place.  Refreshments will be available.
As well as the matches, there will be a number of competitions taking place:

Produce Competition

Open to anyone but please note entries need to be in by 11:30am
Autumn Basket including flowers
FIRST PRIZE £5
SECOND PRIZE £2
A Selection of Homegrown Vegetables
FIRST PRIZE £5
SECOND PRIZE £2
Entry Fee £1

Children’s Competition

Decorated Stone
Vegetable Sculpture

Class One – 2 to 6 years
Class Two – 7 to 11 years
Class Three – 12 to 16 Years

Points for each competition are accumulated and prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be awarded for each age group.
