Christ Church Academy plans charity darts marathon for Macmillan

Christ Church Academy is preparing to host a charity darts marathon in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, with a goal of reaching 100,000 points in a single day.

The event will take place on Wednesday 25 March in the school’s dance and drama studio, with parents and carers being invited to take part and help the school hit its target.

As well as the darts challenge itself, the academy is also collecting raffle and competition prizes to boost the amount raised for Macmillan.

It gives the fundraiser a slightly unusual twist, but the aim is a serious one, raising money for a charity that supports people living with cancer and their families.

Parents and carers invited to take part

Christ Church Academy is asking parents and carers who would like to get involved to sign up in advance.

The school says spaces will be confirmed once people have completed the online form.

Alongside that, families and supporters are also being asked to donate raffle prizes, with all contributions, large or small, said to be appreciated.

Prize donations can be brought into school and handed to Mrs Howard.

Ways to support the fundraiser

There are several ways people can back the event.

Parents and carers can sign up to come along and throw some darts on the day, businesses or families can donate raffle prizes, and anyone who wants to support the fundraiser financially can also give through the team’s Macmillan donation page.

School events like this often bring together staff, pupils and families around a shared cause, and this one looks set to do that with a mix of fundraising and friendly competition.
